Minnesota Holiday Gift Guide

We may ship our coffee to every corner of the United States, but we’ve got a little soft spot for our home state of Minnesota. This holiday season, we’d like to introduce you to a few of our favorite Minnesota-grown brands. Check them out, and, no matter where you live, consider buying gifts from local businesses before hitting the mall.

Seven Sundays Muesli

The name “Seven Sundays” grew out of owner Hannah Barnstable’s desire to live every day the way she tries to live Sundays: more slowly and intentionally, fully alive and in the present. We love this sentiment, and we love Seven Sundays Muesli. Made with whole grains, nuts and seeds, with just a touch of honey and dried fruit, it’s the perfect complement to a lazy morning in bed with a big mug of Velvet Moon.

Serious Jam

With flavors like “strawberry balsamic black pepper” and “whiskey infused orange marmalade,” Serious Jam truly lives up to its name—its flavors are creative, unexpected, and delicious. If you’re looking to spice up your next cheese plate, morning toast, or bowl of muesli, we’d recommend checking out this tasty, locally sourced, organic jam brand.

Still Kickin

After her husband, Aaron, died of brain cancer at the age of 35, Nora McInerny started selling copies of his favorite shirt—a green, cotton tee that read, “Still Kickin”.  Since his death, she’s built “Still Kickin” into a nonprofit organization committed to honoring Aaron’s life and spirit by selling swag, organizing workout classes, and donating the proceeds to their Still Kickin Hero—someone awesome who’s going through something awful.

Great Lakes Northern Outfitters

If you live in Minnesota, you know there’s nothing better than spending a hot, sticky summer day on the water. Great Lakes Northern Outfitters has created a line of clothing and housewares celebrating this uniquely Minnesotan lake culture. Check out their knit hats and coffee mugs, if you’re looking for a gift to help a friend get through these next few frigid winter months.

Magers & Quinn Booksellers

Coffee and a good book—really the perfect pairing! We love browsing Magers & Quinn’s well curated selection of new and used books, and swinging by on Saturdays and Sundays to hear talks by novelists, poets, and chefs alike. This Saturday, 12/16, the bookstore hosts local Chef Sean Sherman, and cookbook author Beth Dooley.
