Five Reasons We’re Excited for this Winter in Minnesota

Winterfest – February 16

Held in St. Paul’s historic Union Depot, a beautiful old railroad station in the heart of the city, Winterfest 2018 features over 100 local craft breweries and food pairings from some of the city’s best restaurants. We’ll take any chance we can get to hunker down, and enjoy a brew or two with family and friends.

Art Shanty Projects – Weekends from January 20 – February 11

Welcoming and lively in the spring and summer, our city’s lakes become a little desolate once temps plummet below zero, and waves turn to ice. Every year since 2007, Art Shanty Projects has transformed the surface of a frozen lake into a dynamic community gathering space. This year, artists of all stripes will set up shanties across Lake Harriet (Bde Unma), and treat the city to a variety of stories, songs, games and more.

Cross-Country Skiing

For hard-core outdoorsy folk, the city of Minneapolis boasts over 20 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. You can rent a pair, and even take lessons at Wirth Park or Hiawatha Golf Course. Just make sure you bundle up, and ask a friend to have a warm cup of French Roast waiting for you when you get home.

Hibernating

Minnesota winters can definitely be bitterly cold, but here at Cameron’s, we revel in the opportunity to slow down, and take time for what matters most. If the slush and gloom get you down, we’d encourage you to crack open one of the books on your nightstand that’s been waiting to be read, or to spend a day baking cookies and doing a puzzle with the kids. However you decide to spend your winter, we hope each morning starts out warm and bright with a delicious cup of Cameron’s.
