That’s where you’ll find Joe, who is always calm even while managing one of our busiest areas. We get to experience his warmth and resourcefulness on a daily basis, now we’re excited for you to get to know him a little better too!

Where did you grow up? What did you like about it?
I grew up in Sturgeon Bay, which is in Door County, WI – a known tourist destination. I loved always being out on the water and having easy access to numerous parks around the county.

Where do you live now?
Now I live in Plymouth, MN, with my wife Leah and our son Cohen. We have two cats named Pig & Kitty, and one dog who is named Porter.

Tell us about them!
My wife and I have been married for a little over 2 years. We met when one of my best friends married Leah’s cousin. We had our first child, Cohen, 3 months ago and it has been incredible watching him grow and develop even in this short time! As for the animals the hierarchy is Kitty, then our dog Porter, and finally our fat cat Pig.

When did you first try Cameron’s?
About two months before hearing of the job opening. I happened upon it at Menards while shopping for some household supplies.

What do you do at Cameron’s, and how long have you been doing it?
I started in January of 2017 as the Lead of the Finished Goods Warehouse. About 6 months after that I became the Finished Goods Warehouse Supervisor and I have been doing that ever since. I oversee all of the outbound operations after the coffee has been roasted and packaged.

What’s your favorite part of working at Cameron’s?
Well, I have been a coffee drinker since I was 16 working early mornings at a golf course. So endless access to great coffee is a perk! Mainly I really enjoy the people I get to work with, it’s a great group of people that really work hard and it makes it nice to come into work every day.

What do you love about coffee?
The aroma and the caffeine. I’ll drink it straight or with a little cream, just depends on the day.

What’s your favorite Cameron’s blend, and how do you like to brew it?
That’s a toss up between Jamaica Blue Mountain Blend or Velvet Moon. And depending on the morning I make it either in the Keurig or in my homemade pour over. The pour over is the preferred method.

What does your ideal Saturday morning look like?
It varies with the seasons but right now I love waking up and playing with my son and taking him and Porter for a walk. We’re getting as much fresh air as possible before it’s too cold to be outside with an infant. During the winter, if I can sneak away, a favorite pastime of mine is to go ice fishing.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I play soccer, go fishing, golf, and sample some of the breweries around the Twin Cities with friends. Since I have been at Cameron’s we also bought a house so I have been doing what I can around there in my spare time as well.

Favorite place to grab food or drink?
Guilty confession – I love Panda Express but, in all honesty, I really enjoy trying new restaurants. Trying something new was something that my parents instilled in me at a very young age whenever we traveled somewhere.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
At an early age I thought I would grow up to develop video games, but growing up with a father who knew how to build or fix just about anything I thought I would work for his home remodeling business. That being said, I took a chance at a job in a big city and have loved it so far!

Any other fun facts about you?
I proposed to my wife twice. The first time we were on a cruise, but I didn’t get the ring in time. We were on a private beach and I couldn’t pass up the moment. The second time was up at Taylor’s Falls. She knew I had the ring at that point, but I was still nervous and awkward. Thankfully she said yes both times.
