Brewed from the Beginning
In 1978, Janie and Jim Cameron had trouble finding good coffee beans anywhere within 100 miles. Jim made it his mission to bring premium coffee to their local grocery stores so that everyone could enjoy exceptional coffee at home.

Bill Kirkpatrick decided to acquire Cameron’s Coffee in 1993 after a little soul-searching. With a vision for bringing superior coffee to larger, coffee-savvy audiences, he expanded the local Cameron’s coffee roasterie into a state-of-the-art roasterie, still in use today. Today the Cameron’s facility in Shakopee, MN is still crafting cheer with small-town heart.

At Cameron’s Coffee, our sensory panel is essential to ensuring every cup lives up to our high standards. Our panel is made up of trained tasters, many certified by organizations like the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), who bring deep expertise in identifying and evaluating the complex flavors, aromas, and textures unique to each blend. Their insights help us craft consistently smooth, delicious coffee from bean to brew.

1993

Roastery Transformation
Bill Kirkpatrick who acquired Cameron’s Coffee in 1993 with a vision for bringing superior coffee to larger, coffee-savvy audiences.
2008

Hello Shakopee
Minnesota roasterie opens in Shakopee, MN and the real magic begins.
2009

Warehouse Sales
Cameron’s launches semi-annual warehouse sales at their Shakopee roastery—now offered online only to make fan-favorite blends more accessible across the Midwest.
2012

EcoPods are born!
Cameron’s launches EcoPods—single serve, filter-brewed, earth-friendly design.
2014

Packaging Upgrade
Cameron’s updates its packaging to reflect its cheery, friendly personality.
2019

Becoming National
Cameron’s now available in all the lower 48 states across the US with our direct to consumer website.

New Growth
Cameron’s is acquired by Colombian packaged-foods company, Grupo Nutresa, maintaining operations in Shakopee, MN, while drawing support from Groupo Nutresa for new growth and coffee market innovation.
2020

Warehouse Expansion
Cameron’s expands to a second warehouse space in Shakopee, MN, allowing more room for storage and production of always smooth, never bitter premium coffee.
2022

New Look
Cameron’s refreshes logo and packaging to better reflect their cheerful, friendly, bright personality.
